FI: So Why Greysuar?

DB: ‘Because I wanted to make an
insane animal for a contest.’

FI: What Contest?

DB: ‘Worth1000.com’s, they have a lot
of photoshop contest anyone can enter.’
(note* I am not above naming other websites
on mine)

FI: How did you make it?

DB: ‘Funny you should ask...’

First I had to find good source art, I was able to find...

These will work - I will use PHOTOSHOP to combine a Greyhound + a Prehistoric Raptor.
With the two pictures open in photoshop.
Starting with the raptor I use the Polygonal Lasso tool to select only the parts of the raptor I want.
Copy+Paste the image of the raptor into the Greyhound image. Flip the Raptor head Horizontally, then hide it because I am done with it for now. Focusing on the Greyhound now, I want to get rid of some of his face, it is to far out, and would stick out of the Final Greysuars neck.Using the glorious Clone Tool, I could add more grass where the face is.
Now I can line up the Raptor head with grey hound body, I needed to scale it a bit to fit the body.
The colors are obviously off, so I us a little Hue/ Saturation to correct that. Also use the eye dropper to take some of the color from the Greyhounds neck area and on a new layer paint with a small feathered brush on the neck area. The Blur tool also comes in handy.
One of the last things that will make this creature look seamless, is adding detail, look close at the source image, does the Raptor head have scales and rippled skin? yes. Might as well add the detail all over the body. Use the the Burn tool to add streaks to the Greyhound body. Concentrait on joints like the shoulderblade.
*Remember The Lasso tool and Blurs are your friend when it comes to image editing.
