DB: ‘Not cool enough, plus no one knows how to pronounce it anyway.'
I knew from the start that once I had a name I would need a visually interesting logo. Right away I found one I liked.
I set it as a coming soon splash page, with full intentions of making a site based on this design.
Eight months later I remembered I had a domain I was paying for. Using that to reinvigorate me, I reinvented what I had done with the initial BigBlink logo and splash page.
I created a new animated splash page, and put it up on BigBlink.com. This time I had created a light and clean feel. My motto became '100% satisfaction guaranteed'
A little ego never hurt anyone...well It did that one guy, but it couldnt hurt me right ?
Six Months from then I got an opening to fit this site into my schedule. I had seen an excellent picture of Kim Jong - il. Might be the funniest picture of 2004. He just earned a spot with his cronies on BigBlink.
I created a new splash page yet again (even a few wallpapers). I didnt think this one would last as it could get dated, but I made it none the less.
Only a few months after the Kim Jong incident, it was time for BigBlink to come to life. A temporary splash page went up (thats #4) However this time around there was actually commotion behind the scenes.
Buzz was created by this simple movie poster logic. Ask people what is, is and they will want to know!
A lot of great color schemes can be found everywhere you look. This one just happened to be found on a car on I-95. I tweaked it a bit, and now had a good foundation for BigBlink. The layout itself is something that causes debate. I personally like the layout and location of the main (index) page, and that is what counts.
In time BigBlink will undoubtedly change again. But for now I am happy and proud of the final product.
